Nomads Ltd is an amateur dramatic society resident at the Kings Theatre in Newmarket.

We are an extremely active society that has a full calendar of shows, performing plays, musicals and a pantomime each year. In addition, our varied schedule is complimented by a number of outside productions.

The society offers various memberships: Nomads (for adults), Young Nomads, Kings Kids, Preview Night Patrons, Permanent Bookers and The 100 Club. See below for details!

We cater for all ages here at Nomads! And it's not all about treading the boards. Wherever your talents lie, you'll receive a warm welcome from the friendly Nomads family.

NOMADS

Nomads is a theatre group for members aged 16 and up. They stage at least 4 shows per year (a pantomime, plays and a musicals), as well as a Christmas concert and other smaller productions.  As well as performing, they are extremely active within the wider Nomads family and assist in all aspects of running the theatre, both on and off the stage.

Rehearsals for shows are usually 19:30 to 21:30 - 22:00 and occasionally Sundays 10:00  16:00.

Prospective members need not audition to become a member of Nomads, but are required to pay the membership fee within 30 days of joining the society.

Membership fees are £20 p/a plus a £15 fee per show.

YOUNG NOMADS

Young Nomads 'Young Nomads is a theatre group for members aged 11 - 16 years. Young Nomads perform 2 shows per year, with opportunities to be in the annual Summer School, Easter workshop and Pantomime.  Young Nomads train in the 3 main disciplines of acting, singing and dance at each weekly session.

Young Nomads meet weekly on Friday evenings during term times. The usual session times are:
Juniors: 18:00 - 19:30
(school years 6, 7 & 8)
Seniors: 19:30 - 21:00
(school years 9, 10 & 11)

The Young Nomads membership costs £60 per term and there are 3 terms per year. A Bursary is available to assist with fees however a minimum of £25 is required to help with running costs. KINGS KIDS

Kings Kids is a theatre group for members aged 4 to 10 years. Kings Kids perform at least twice a year in their end-of-term concerts, with opportunities to be in the annual Summer & Easter workshops. Kings Kids learn the 3 main disciplines of acting, singing and dance at each weekly session along with additional theatre skills. Membership is an excellent way to introduce children into the world of musical theatre and the ideal preparation for entry into Young Nomads.

Kings Kids meet weekly at the theatre on Saturday mornings during term times. The usual session times are:
Juniors: 9:00 to 9:45
(typically school years F, 1 & 2)
Membership fees are £50 per 10 week term. There are 3 terms per year.

Seniors: 9:30 to 10:30
(typically school years 3, 4 & 5)
Membership fees are £60 per 10 week term. There are 3 terms per year.

KINGS KIDDIES

Kings Kiddies is a fun group for ages 1 to 3 years and a great way for parents and carers to introduce little ones to the exciting world of musical theatre.

We hope to resume in the autumn, meeting each Tuesday morning from 9.45am - 10.30am at the theatre.

There is no membership for Kings Kiddies, simply a weekly fee of £4 to be paid at the beginning of each class.
Please note that Kings Kiddies does not always run during the school holidays.

PREVIEW NIGHT PATRONS

As a community theatre, Nomads Ltd is pleased to give something back to our valued community. With this in mind, we invite local pensioners to attend our dress rehearsal performances free of charge.

Our only requirement is that they apply for free membership and tell all their friends and relatives about the show!

Preview Night Patrons must be of pension age and, once membership is obtained, it is for life. Membership is for the applicant only and cannot be passed on.

PERMANENT BOOKERS

Permanent Booker membership is free and gives members the opportunity for their chosen seats to be held in reserve prior to each major production (Wednesdays to Saturdays only). If chosen seats not taken up by a Permanent Booker, they are released for sale to the public.

This membership can be held for life but is reviewed on an annual basis. Tickets remain the normal price and seats may not be held in reserve for matinees, opening night performances or small shows such as concerts or comedy nights.

THE 100 CLUB

The Nomads 100 Club is a fund-raising lottery that originally began with 100 members. However, the club has grown over the years and now exceeds that number!
Members participate in a monthly draw to win cash prizes whilst funds raised go towards much needed works and equipment for the theatre.

Annual membership costs £12 per number and runs from April 1st to March 31st of the following year.
Monthly prize draws are as follows:
1st Prize £30
2nd Prize £25
3rd Prize £20
